This original artwork features Irish Moss (Chondrus Crispus), responsibly foraged by Nicola Weldon along the Irish coast. Each seaweed specimen is carefully selected from strands and rock pools, then dry pressed to preserve its intricate natural form.

The pressed seaweed is beautifully framed in natural wood, allowing the fine detail and structure of the seaweed to be appreciated as both a scientific and artistic form. This piece offers a direct connection to Ireland’s coastal landscapes, presented with care and respect for the natural environment.

My creative process involves incorporating elements of nature and all of my original artworks are made by hand. No two are ever the same, meaning sizes and descriptions are approximate. My artworks sometimes have uneven qualities and features, which I believe add to the overall character and uniqueness of my work. It is advised not to place the original ceramic artwork in direct sunlight or directly above a heat source to ensure longevity.
