This original ceramic wall art piece explores coastal botanical form through Nicola Weldon’s highly textured and expressive ceramic practice. Coastal Seedheads brings together drifting seedhead and grass forms, rendered in soft, sand and driftwood tones that echo the movement and texture of the shoreline.

 

The tonal approach allows texture and composition to take centre stage, creating a calm yet richly detailed piece inspired by Ireland’s coastline. Created as a one-of-a-kind artwork, this work offers a contemplative botanical presence well suited to contemporary interior spaces.

My creative process involves incorporating elements of nature and all of my original artworks are made by hand. No two are ever the same, meaning sizes and descriptions are approximate. My artworks sometimes have uneven qualities and features, which I believe add to the overall character and uniqueness of my work. It is advised not to place the original ceramic artwork in direct sunlight or directly above a heat source to ensure longevity.
