About Nicola Weldon

Irish Botanical Artist & Linen Homeware Designer

Nicola Weldon is an Irish botanical artist whose work is inspired by the country’s wild landscapes, native flora and natural textures. Using pressed seedheads and flowers, she creates ceramic artworks that preserve the imprint and character of plants gathered from Ireland’s meadows, coastlines and hedgerows.

Working with raw materials such as clay and plaster, Nicola has developed a distinctive process that captures the delicate detail of each botanical form. Her ceramic wall pieces are known for their tactile surface and quiet elegance, recording fleeting moments from the natural world.

More recently, this practice has expanded into linen homeware. Designed in Ireland and inspired by her original ceramic work, the linen collections bring the same sense of craft, material awareness and connection to place into everyday living.

The Dill – Original Ceramic Wall Art hangs on a brown wall above a wooden table with a vase of dried leaves and a folded cream blanket. Warm, soft lighting enhances the cozy, autumn-inspired atmosphere.

Approach & Design

Nicola’s approach is rooted in material integrity, thoughtful design and longevity. Her linen homeware collections are made using premium-quality linen and are designed exclusively by Nicola, reflecting a distinctly Irish sensibility and aesthetic.

Whether styled in a country cottage, coastal home or contemporary interior, the linen pieces are designed to be versatile, durable and timeless. Rather than following trends, the focus is on creating considered homeware that feels relevant across spaces and seasons.

The Rosemary – Original Ceramic Wall Art, inspired by Irish design in blue and green tones, hangs on a dark blue wall above a wooden table with a gold vase of green foliage and part of a wooden chair visible.
The Rosemary – Original Ceramic Wall Art, inspired by botanical Irish themes, features pressed grasses on yellow ceramic and hangs on a mauve wall above a wooden surface with a small vase of dried sprigs and a textured beige blanket.

Sustainability & Materials

Sustainability is central to Nicola’s practice. Each design is created with longevity in mind, favouring natural materials, responsible production methods and timeless appeal over seasonal trends.

All linens used are Oeko-Tex certified or GOTS certified organic linen, and printing is carried out using eco-friendly pigment inks. By working with high-quality raw materials and supporting traditional production methods, Nicola aims to create textiles that are both environmentally conscious and made to last.

The "Large Colourful Meadow Mix – Fine Art Print" hangs on a dark green wall, featuring pink and white cows with green leaves, surrounded by lush, leafy plants.

Nicola’s current work explores Ireland’s native plant life, including a focused study on Irish tree species. Through pressing botanicals directly into clay, she records the structure, texture and presence of each plant, creating ceramic artworks that reflect a deep connection to place and landscape.
